About Todd Dufresne

Dr. Todd Dufresne is Professor of Philosophy at Lakehead University, and in 2018-19 Visiting Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto, and Visiting Professor of English at Seikei University in Tokyo.

Dr. Dufresne is a well-known Freud critic and controversial journalist-philosopher confronting the intersecting crises of climate change, fascism, and techno-feudalism radically reshaping our society now.

His latest book, in the draft stages, is ‘Get Real! Outsiders Who Think, Six Cases at the Limits of Philosophy’. In it he explores how non-philosophers, such as Andy Warhol, and trained outsider-philosophers, such as Angela Davis, engage with and transform our understanding of truth and reality — and show us how it’s done.
